Notre Dame displayed its investment in sustainability and conservation by installing 350 geothermal wells beneath the Ricci soccer complex. Connected to the University’s heating plant represent Notre Dame’s commitment to sustainability and its stated goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Ricci Fields are also the practice site for the renowned University of Notre Dame Marching Band. The project includes support facilities, including a band observation tower and storage and maintenance facilities.

Stinson Rugby Stadium is home to the University of Notre Dame Rugby team that competes in the 15s in the fall and 7s in the spring. The series culminates in the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship, which the Irish have been competitive in since its inception in 2010. It is one of the largest synthetic turf rugby pitches globally and is known for its fast play. The project included a game-day plaza, bleachers, and lighting.
