Our Team


Our team blends an understanding of the relationship between the environment and how we experience it, with the technical expertise and knowledge to expand concepts to reality. Our practice is built on three foundational components: social, environmental and economic.

Robert A. Fiala, AIA, NCARB, APA

Principal

Bob has over 40-years of experience in public and private sector planning and design. Licensed in 12 states, Bob has completed projects throughout the United States, Mexico, and Latin America, and understands complex local/regional economic and political issues. This experience provides a solid foundation for assisting in developing public policy and economic development strategies. He also provides technical oversight and community engagement experience for all Greenland projects. Bob is also involved in many non-profit and non-government organizations as a trustee or director. These include Habitat for Humanity, The Third Federal Foundation, The Lake County Development Council, The Lake County Coastal Erosion Special Improvement District, The Chagrin Watershed Partners, and The Lake County Visitors Bureau. Bob holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and Public Policy from the University of Southern California. 

William  "Bill" Dunagan, PE

Director of Civil Engineering

Bill has worked for over 40 years dealing with developers, architects, Owners relating to industrial, commercial, institutional, municipal, residential, assisted living, and infrastructure (water, sewer, storm, lift station, force main, and roadway projects). Civil Engineering projects have ranged from small projects to Cleveland Clinic’s $550,000,000 Health Education Project. Bill is responsible for overseeing engineering staff, quality control, responding to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, Submittals, Marketing, Scheduling, and overall Project Management.  Bill is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University 

Civil Design Team


Our civil designers strive to provide sustainable products to our clients. They accomplish this by being proficient in drafting tools, they show excellent problem-solving skills, and are willing to go the extra mile without hesitation.

Jamie Klingman

Engineering Intern

Jamie brings 10 years of experience to Greenland Engineering through land planning, site development, landscape architecture and storm water management. Her design expertise and project development experience allow her the opportunity to create and strengthen a site’s relationship to its surrounding communities. Her projects include educational facilities, commercial and industrial sites, healthcare site development and roadway design. Jamie utilizes her strong communication skills to collaborate and work closely with clients, residents, and local and state agencies. Jamie holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Cleveland State University. She is working to obtain her Professional Engineer (PE) certification. 

Lydia Childers

Engineering Intern

Lydia utilizes her experience in site design and CAD drafting, along with stormwater management and detention design and calculations to prepare project specification packages for civil engineering designs. Her projects have included landfill gas systems, quality assurance for designed bridges, and the LYNX Blue line light rail transit system extension. Lydia is fluent in six languages and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina. She is working to obtain her Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

Ruta  K. Greiner

Place Making  & Identity

Ruta has a degree in Industrial Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art and has over 30 years experience in Placemaking & Identity, Marketing and Wayfinding in the retail, mixed use, 

municipalities and corporate environment working alongside Developers, Architects and Fabricators across the United States. She has a passion for engaging people and organizations inside of public and private spaces through branding, wayfinding and marketing/communication tools. Ruta is owner of SEEK Collaborative Design, LLC and is also an active member on the Lake County YMCA Corporate Board and also donates her marketing and design talents to several local non-profits.
